Come celebrate Frankenstein’s 202nd birthday! You, Frankenstein, and his monster friends have come together to celebrate the occasion, and all is well until one of the monster guests is murdered! You and the other party guests will work together to solve The Monster Mash and even enjoy a delicious meal while you solve the case. Come in costume, your fanciest party clothes, or just as you are. The event takes place Friday, October 15 at AJ’s on the Bayou. Tickets are $65 each but seating is limited. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and dinner and the show start at 7 p.m. The show is approximately 90-120 minutes long.

Spooky Secrets of the Stars

Visit the Emerald Coast Science Center in Fort Walton Beach for a special spooky show. Wear your costume, trick-or-treat around the center, and be prepared to be scared! The center is presenting a special show in the inflatable planetarium about the creepy creatures of mythology that are hidden in our night sky. The special event takes place October 28, and a family-friendly version is available at 5 and 6 p.m., while the Spooktacular Show at 7 p.m. is more suited to guests ages eight and up due to spookier content. All shows last approximately 45 minutes. Seating is limited and advanced ticket purchases are encouraged. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled show. Non-member pricing is $8/child, $10/adult, and $9/senior; member pricing is $6/child, $8/adult, and $7/senior.

Wentz Brothers Haunted House

For over a decade, a Fort Walton Beach family has been scaring locals and visitors alike. Each year, the Wentz brothers of Fort Walton Beach have transformed their childhood home into a haunted house full of spooky fright. This year, they’ve realized they have outgrown the space and are moving the attraction to the Santa Rosa Mall in May Esther. Stop by the Wentz Brothers’ Festival of Fears near the north entrance of the mall. each Friday and Saturday during October from 6-11 p.m. up until Halloween in Fort Walton Beach weekend. The attraction will also be open Thursday and Sunday of Halloween weekend. For a more family-friendly version with no “scare actors” around, visit noon-4 p.m. every Saturday in October.

HarborWalk Village

Add a little spooky culture to your agenda. HarborWalk Village in Destin. Spooktacular Nights: “This is Halloween” is a program presented by the Sinfonia Youth Orchestra. Performances are Thursday, October 28 – Saturday, October 30 at 7 p.m. on the main stage at HarborWalk Village. There may be other events happening around the area too, so make sure to check the schedule and plan accordingly.
