The holidays have arrived! There is always a ton of activity going on in the Fort Walton Beach area. However, the holiday season offers the opportunity to enjoy plenty of good cheer, participate in joyous celebrations, and have a jolly good time! We’ve put together a list of Florida activities you won’t want to miss in Fort Walton Beach and the surrounding areas during this festive time.12/6-12/20: Baytowne Wharf 12 Nights of Lights: The Baytown Wharf is offering a festive light show every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night all the way through Christmas. This joyous event features an amazing concert series each Wednesday Night. There are also additional performances to enjoy at the Village Christmas tree from 6 to 8 pm.12/9: 33rd Annual Destin Christmas Parade: This year’s parade theme is “All I Want for Christmas”.Yule of Yesteryear Christmas Festival: This awesome festival offers craft demonstrations, children’s activities, a bake sale, and free pictures with Santa! Food vendors will be present, as well as shopping for one-of-a-kind gifts.12/10: Arrival of Billy Claus at Lulu’s: Be sure to be at Lulu’s in time to witness the arrival of Billy Claus, Santa’s sun-loving brother. The fun starts at 1 pm, Billy will arrive at 2 pm. His arrival is a sight to see! This is a free family event featuring photos with Billy, face painting, inflatables, and arts and crafts. 31st Annual Holiday on the Harbor Boat Parade: The Boat Parade lights up the harbor at 6 pm. Fireworks will immediately follow the parade. Be sure to check out the fire spinning up at the main stage of HarborWalk Village. 12/13, 12/20, and 12/27: Maximum Magic Dinner Theater: features amazing illusions mixed with comedy and audience interaction. Prepare for a night of great food and entertainment!12/16: Winterfest 2017: Join the Winter Solstice celebration with crafts, games, and interactive activities.Santa Clause Pub Crawl: With proceeds benefiting the Junior League of the Emerald Coast, you can enjoy holiday pub-hopping festivities dressed in your Christmas costumes (tacky sweaters, Santa Outfits, Elf Costumes, etc). Admission is $10 per person.12/16-12/28: Every Christmas Story Ever Told and Then Some offers a delightful night of theater performances featuring Christmas stories. The theater has seating for seventy-five spectators, so be sure to book early.12/22:Lightwire Theater: A Very Electric Christmas: This performance offers a fantastic performance of cast members wearing costumes fitted with electroluminescent lights. Their bodies become life-sized puppets as they perform movement and dance, while lights enhance their movement. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under.Don’t forget all the visits with Santa. You can visit with him each Sunday at HarborWalk Village.
