Gulf to Table

There are plenty of fish in our Emerald Seas. So, now that you’ve caught your fair share, what are you going to do? We suggest getting cleaned up and toting that catch to a local gulf to table restaurant to have the chef prepare you a scrumptious meal. We couldn’t think of a better way to have your treasures from the sea served. We did some digging around and talked to some pretty awesome locals to get the scoop on the best places to get some grub. We’ve put together a list of top local Gulf to Table Fort Walton restaurants for you to consider.

Head to the east and you’ll find Anglers Beachside Grill. A local favorite, Anglers offers amazing food and fantastic views of the Gulf from any table. They offer a playground down on the sand for the kiddies! They even have a winged friend that habitually drops by named George. (Don’t tell him that he’s a Pelican, though. He tends to get offended!) When you send your fresh catch to the kitchen, ask them to throw on one of their signature toppings. Our favorite is the Gulf Coast Topping, which consists of a white wine sauce laden with fresh crabmeat and shrimp.

If you happen to find yourself a little further inland after your day of play, Niceville offers some amazing bayou views at Ernie’s Dockside Cafe and Oyster Bar. Chef Ernie will turn your catch of the day into an amazing delicacy. We recommend trying the Gouda Cheese Grits as one of your sides. While you’re waiting for your main course to be served to you, go ahead and order some oysters. The Bienville Baked Oysters are mind-blowing!

Ready for an evening of entertainment and playful activities? Then head east over to Harbor Docks. Another local favorite, this restaurant cooks everything from scratch. Chef Duster Strawbridge will deliver an amazing cuisine to your table prepared from your catch. Save some room for dessert! Their white chocolate bread pudding is out of this world!

Another option is to head over to HarborWalk Village, where restaurants and activities are in abundance. Keep an eye out for the lighthouse. Once spotted, head on over to Harry T’s. Tote in that fresh catch to this playful restaurant and prepare for an evening of fun and find food!

Located in the Lighthouse, this restaurant has a circus theme and is laden with memorabilia from a sunken ship. Every table offers an amazing view of the Gulf. Order up some Sesame Tuna or the Smoked Tuna Dip while you wait for the kitchen to serve your catch, cooked to perfection.

Once dinner is complete, browse the Village for shopping, live entertainment, and a fun-filled atmosphere. If you stay long enough, you may just find yourself hungry again. This is the perfect opportunity to try Jackacuda’s. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of this favorite local eatery. It offers a laid-back hangout to enjoy the views and the fare. We recommend the Ceviche (the seafood will be determined by the Chef and the season) for starters. If Ceviche isn’t your cup of tea, order up some of their amazing sushi rolls while you wait for your entrée. The Crunchy Spicy Crawfish roll is fantastic. Be sure to order eel sauce and spicy mayo for dipping that sushi roll!

Whichever venue you choose to prepare your fresh catch for your dinner, we’re positive you’ll be pleasantly stuffed to your gills (Ha!). After dinner, head back to The Breakers, kick off your shoes and take a walk along our beaches. Then get up tomorrow and let’s do it all again! That’s what life along our beaches is all about!
