Water Thrills of the Emerald Coast

There’s a place where the beach fans go to have fun in the sun. A place where the warm breeze is blowing and there’s a Breaker’s umbrella casting shade over an empty chair. But when the Florida sun starts beating down it’s time to head on out to the water and get your family vacation started with a splash.

Parasailing

If you think the view from shore is spectacular, then you’re in for a surprise when you get whisked away on a parasail up above the glimmering water and admire the picture perfect panorama of the island from 800 feet in the air. You’ll take Emerald Coasting to a whole new level when you’re soaring above the Choctawhatchee Bay. If you’re lucky, you might even see dolphins, sea turtles, manatees, rays, or schools of fish swimming around in the water below.

Jet Skiing

Do you have the need for speed? Wave goodbye to the shore as you speed away on the back of a jet ski. The whole family will get a thrill out of racing around with the wind in their hair and the seaspray splashing up on them. Propel around the bay and explore all the natural beauty of the Emerald Coastline, stop by Crab Island for some floating food and tropical tunes, then head back to the bay to scout the shoreline for a playful pod of dolphins.

Power Boat Rentals – Crab Island

Pack up the cooler, hop on board, and get ready to make a splash! Rent out a power boat and spend the day cruising around Crab Island with the locals. Drop your anchor and just float under the heat of the Florida sun with a cold one in your hand. When you’re ready to cool off, break out the towable water tubes and hold on tight cause it’s about to be a bumpy ride. Don’t have any water tubes of your own? Hop over to the Crab Island Water Park and slide on into the refreshing emerald green waters. A day spent splashing around Crab Island will have the whole family jumping for joy.

Banana Boat Rides

Are the kids driving you bananas already? Take the tots for a trip around the island on one of those “silly looking yellow inflated tubes” and watch them go from grumpy gills to perfect little angel fish. Whether you’re looking for a wild or mild ride, the laughs shared on banana boat rides make for some of the best family memories.

Kiteboarding

Anyone who has ever tried kiteboarding knows that there’s nothing quite like the sensation you get when the salt air catches the sail in a way that makes you feel like you’re flying. The wind and the water surrounding you as the sun shimmers down will make you lose yourself in the moment. Kiteboarding is something every water thrill junkie should try and the Emerald Coast is the perfect place to learn how to get up and go with the flow.

We’re on island time here at The Breakers of Fort Walton Beach, so go ahead and jump on in before the sun disappears with the tide. With so many ways to make a splash, the Emerald Coast has everything you need and more for a vacation that’s sure to thrill the whole family.
