This is the hottest New Year’s Eve party along the Emerald Coast and is sure to be a favorite for your family. This event kicks off the fun at 7:00 PM with all kinds of activities lined up for the evening. The opening act is live music by Stranger Boy at 7:00 PM followed by The New Royals playing at 9:30 PM. Of course no New Year’s Eve party can be complete without a bit of fireworks and this celebration will include not one but two different displays! The first fireworks display will take place at 8:00 PM so those who do not plan on staying until midnight can enjoy. The main fireworks display however will be saved for midnight where a New Year’s countdown will take place with a ball drop. This combination is what New Year’s Eve is all about and is sure to be the best celebration you have experienced yet. 16th Annual Penguin Plunge ‘N’ Paddle
There are all kinds of events taking place just along the coast of Fort Walton Beach. The area is easy to get around especially if you have a car so you can also visit our neighboring communities. You will find areas such as Navarre Beach just down the water to also host some exciting events such as their Penguin Plunge ‘N’ Paddle. This annual event will be the 16th consecutive year for it as it benefits the Healing Paws for Warriors. The event will specifically be taking place over at Juana’s Pagodas starting at noon on New Year’s Day. The event has you jumping into the chilly waters and paddling through the waves for a thrilling time with friends and family. The fun does not stop when you get out of the water though. The Annual Penguin Plunge ‘N’ Paddle has the fun going until 4:00 PM that day. You can enjoy some delicious food and the adults will have their selection of draft beer. Live music by Steve Hall will be on hand too. Entry into the event will get you a long sleeve dri-fit shirt while supply lasts. Registration in advance is required to participated in the upcoming 16th Annual Penguin Plunge ‘N’ Paddle; don’t miss out!
Winter Break Fun at the Emerald Coast Science Center
One of the most exciting attractions here in Fort Walton Beach is the Emerald Coast Science Center and it will be hosting special holiday activities during the week of New Year’s Eve. This is a perfect place for your kids to enjoy some hands on learning while having fun. Some of the fun activities planned for the event include their Creature Features that highlight certain coastal critters. They can also enjoy visual chemistry demonstrations in the Chemistry Corner. The Winter Break Fun activities will take place on December 30th, January 2nd, and January 3rd from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission is $12 per guest with military discounts also available.
