Spring is finally on the horizon, allowing you to enjoy a variety of activities that simply aren’t the same during the winter season. Musical Echoes Native American Flute Festival

One of the most exciting events going on in Fort Walton Beach during the spring is the annual Musical Echoes Native American Flute Festival. You can enjoy a variety of live dance and musical performances from Native American artisans from the region. Additional activities include seminars and learning to play the flute itself. The Musical Echoes Native American Flute Festival will take place at the Santa Rosa Sound on April 24th through the 26th this year.

Go Shopping at the Boardwalk

One of the most popular areas in all of Fort Walton Beach can be found over at Okaloosa Island. More specifically, Okaloosa Island features the Boardwalk, home to a variety of activities. You can find plenty of unique shops to bring home the perfect gift to your loved ones or grab a bite to eat on the of the many restaurants on the Boardwalk. Nothing but fun and excitement awaits you at the Okaloosa Island Boardwalk; the spring is a great time to check it out while enjoying beautiful weather!

Relax at the Beach

The Emerald Coast is known for having the best shoreline in all of Florida. The beaches are pristine, and the view over the emerald water is fantastic. This kind of scenery makes it easy to spend a day at the beach. Grab a towel from your vacation rental along with a few treats to have a picnic next to the water. Do not forget to bring your bathing suits from home; the water might be a little chilly, but the sunshine will offer more than enough warmth to entice you to jump in. All of the state beaches will be open for you to spend the day at. Make sure to check the forecast before heading out for the day.

Check Out the Gulfarium

If you want to learn more about the incredible aquatic life that calls Fort Walton Beach home, make sure you stop at the exciting Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park. This local water park has a variety of entertaining exhibits such as live animal shows, talks with the scientists who work at the park, and interactive experiences. Incredible wildlife including dolphins and sea turtles are part of the show too. The Gulfarium is on hand to educate locals and visitors alike on how we can work together to preserve these majestic creatures.

Take a Cruise

Now that you have experienced Fort Walton Beach by land, make sure to check it out from the water too. Several charter companies make their voyage from the Fort Walton Beach Harbor out on the Gulf. One of our favorite charter companies is the Sea Blaster Snorkeling and Dolphin Cruise. This charter is a three-hour cruise experience that features 90 minutes of snorkeling and 90 minutes of dolphin spotting. That’s right, you get to be in the water during the ride too! This is one of the most popular activities in Fort Walton Beach, even during the early spring season, so make sure you reserve your spots well in advance to join in on the fun.
